Sustainable aviation fund in Singapore

https://www.greenairnews.com/?p=4114

  • The Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore is launching a S$50m ($37m) funding programme called the Aviation Sustainability Programme.

  • This will fund schemes that will help reduce the carbon emissions of aviation, build sustainable operations and encourage the development of a sustainable aviation ecosystem.

  • Funding will cover up to 70% of sector-wide projects and up to 50% of company-level projects.

  • Successful applicants will need to meet at least one of three key criteria. These are reducing energy use and demonstrating a reduction of at least 10% in carbon emissions, developing and testing new service offerings that enhance the ability of companies to operate more sustainably or bringing together aviation ecosystem partners for research and development, green certification or standards development, and knowledge transfer.

  • The scheme comes as Malaysia Aviation Group has predicted that South-East Asian nations will rapidly increase the production of sustainable aviation fuels from 2025.
