SOURCE, an Arizona-based company, has developed solar-powered hydropanels that extract moisture from the air, generating clean drinking water in water-scarce regions. These panels, akin to solar panels, utilize fans to draw in air, extracting moisture through a water-absorbing material. Solar energy condenses this vapor into liquid form, stored in a reservoir and mineralized for quality. Each $2,000 panel produces about 1.3 gallons of water daily and operates independently, offering safe drinking water in diverse locations. CEO Cody Friesen aims to revolutionize global water access, making safe water universally available while tackling environmental concerns by reducing plastic waste—eliminating the need for 54,000 single-use bottles over a 15-year period. Operating in 50 countries, SOURCE's hydropanels aid regions grappling with water scarcity, alleviating reliance on bottled water and its environmental impact.
