Waterless toilets

The Venice Architecture Biennale spotlighted innovative toilet designs tackling water scarcity. Finland showcased the Huussi toilet, operating without water by turning waste into compost. This design, popular in rural Finland, conserves water and addresses climate concerns. Vacuum toilets, inspired by airplane models, aim to significantly cut water usage in urban areas by converting waste into fertilizer and fuel. Despite challenges like high costs, these systems offer promising solutions to water conservation and sustainability, even though widespread adoption may take decades.
